Claims & Quality Issues
Because BidMeat.eu supplies professional food buyers, goods should be inspected promptly and handled in accordance with the applicable temperature and storage requirements.
Inspection on delivery
The Buyer should inspect the goods immediately upon delivery and, where applicable, in the presence of the carrier.
The inspection should include:
- delivered quantity,
- condition of packaging,
- visible transport damage,
- product temperature,
- labels and batch identification,
- general visible condition of the goods.
Any visible shortage, damage or transport irregularity should be recorded on the transport document or in a damage report with the carrier at the time of delivery.
Photographic documentation should be taken whenever reasonably possible.
Acceptance of the goods without transport reservations may make later proof of visible transport damage or shortages more difficult and may limit transport-related claims under applicable law or carriage rules.
Transport claims
Where international road carriage is governed by the CMR Convention or another mandatory transport regime, the applicable mandatory rules concerning reservations, evidence, deadlines and carrier liability apply.
The Buyer should provide BidMeat with all transport documents and evidence reasonably required to pursue a claim against the carrier or insurer.
Hidden quality issues
A quality issue that could not reasonably have been identified during delivery inspection should be reported to BidMeat without undue delay.
For contractual product-quality notifications, the following reporting periods apply unless mandatory law or a specific written agreement requires otherwise:
- Fresh / chilled products: within 8 hours of delivery
- Frozen products: within 24 hours of delivery
A quality claim should include, where relevant:
- order number,
- product name,
- description of the issue,
- photographs showing the issue,
- photographs of packaging and labels,
- batch / lot number,
- delivery document,
- recorded product temperature,
- information about storage conditions after delivery.
The affected goods must be stored and handled correctly after delivery.
Where reasonably required for assessment, the Buyer should preserve the affected goods and must not dispose of them before BidMeat has had a reasonable opportunity to review the claim or agree the next step.
These 8-hour and 24-hour periods concern contractual notification of product-quality issues. They do not replace mandatory statutory rights or mandatory time limits applicable to transport claims.
Returns
BidMeat.eu operates exclusively in the B2B market and primarily supplies food products, including chilled and frozen goods.
There is no general unilateral right to return accepted goods.
Goods may be returned only with BidMeat's prior written approval or where a return is required under mandatory applicable law.
Claim review
A complete claim will be reviewed as soon as reasonably possible.
BidMeat aims to provide a decision or substantive response within 14 business days after receiving the information and evidence required to assess the claim.
Depending on the circumstances and the accepted resolution, a claim may result in a replacement, credit note, refund or another commercially agreed solution.
